How Are Daily Calories Calculated?
Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, considered the most accurate BMR formula by the ADA. We then multiply your BMR by your activity factor to get your TDEE.
Activity Levels
- Sedentary: Desk job, little to no exercise
- Light: Light exercise 1-3 days/week
- Moderate: Moderate exercise 3-5 days/week
- Active: Hard exercise 6-7 days/week
- Very Active: Very hard exercise, physical job
